@smitty195 And just one quick story: Last year, I decided to order a different cocktail while playing blackjack. I usually order a 7&7 to gamble with, but this time I ordered a mai tai. The cocktail waitress came back to me and said that they bartender doesn’t know how to make one and could I tell her what the ingredients were. That pretty much sums up the Sahara…..they were stuck in time.
The Sahara is what i always called, “My favorite dump”. It had character, and every time I visited them for the last 5 years, it was always the same people working there. I will miss the Sahara and the Nascar Cafe. But in all honesty, it was time for the place to close. There was so much wrong with the property that it required a complete demolition in order to get it right. Bye-bye, Sahara…It was a fun ride.
