How does the canceled AA flights effect people with Las Vegas vacation packages?

June 29th, 2009

I'm sure that AA will accomodate them. $hit happens Bro, and I'd much rather have to deal with the inconvenience of reshceduling my vacation to that of my plane slamming into the ground at mach 2.

Where can I get discounts tickets for Las Vegas shows?

June 29th, 2009

Posted by admin in las vegas shows | 6 Comments »

I am going to las vegas in 2 weeks. I want to see Love and The Producers. Tickets are expensive and I would rather not sit in the last row.
These are new shows, but is there anywhere I can find the ticket prices discounted?

There is something called the Coke bottle…it's right next to the M&M store on the strip, and right in front of the ..Coke Store…they sell discount day-of show tickets. however, for Cirque shows like Love..I HIGHLY doubt you will find any discount tickets as they sell out in advance…especially if you don't want to buy them from scalpers/scalping websites..the Producers you may have a better bet, but even then that's a relatively popular show as well..so i'd highly suggest against trying to find discounted tickets for those shows, and just buy them as far out in advance as possible..sometimes ticketmaster price..is considered SAVINGS as opposed to scalpers/scalping websites who buy a huge bulk of good tickets for any show about 1 month prior to the show date.

Could anyone tell me about the following Las Vegas hotels?

I asked before but i wanna ask again:

Excalibur
Planet Hollywood Resort
Monte Carlo Resort
Treasure Island
Paris Las Vegas
Mirage
The Venetian
Bellagio
Wynn
MGM

In terms of prices, room quality, convenience (to airport and casinos), etc.
In regards to the casinos, I'm only interested in playing poker, so I'm looking for casinos that have lots of poker tables.

Well Wynn would have the best poker but also the highest limits. Also, same for the Bellagio. The Bellagio has a great poker room and poker tournaments are held their often. Forget the Excalibur, Planet Hollywood aka Aladdin, Treasure Island, Paris, Monte Carlo-they just have the standard gaming floor. They have poker but are not known for their poker room. MGM has a large gaming floor, not bad, good for average players and has a high roller room. I am not a fan of the Venetian because they do not treat the guests well, even at the tables. Mirage is also good for table games. Best place before the Bellagio and now the Wynn but the Mirage is good and decent room prices.

Every hotel/casino has shuttles to the hotels to and from the airport. They are all on the las vegas Strip. The furtherest from the airport is the Wynn but just by one block. MGM owns Exacalibur (the cheapest place to stay on your list), Treasure Island-TI, Mirage, Bellagio and the MGM-same airport shuttle for all.

If I had to reccomend any of these places to stay and you are just on an average budget I would choose the Mirage or Paris. If you have no budget the Wynn or Bellagio and if you want the cheapest the Excalibur.

The center of the Strip would be the Bellagio, Paris, Mirage and TI. MGM and Excalibur at the beginning. Plan to do a lot of walking or taxis if you stay at those two.

What does it take to become a bartender in las vegas ?

June 29th, 2009

Posted by admin in las vegas | 1 Comment »

Can someone tell me what it takes to become a bartender in las vegas . How difficult is it ? What about the competition ? How do you start as a beginner ? How much does a bartender in las vegas make ?

Every good bartender I know started one of two ways. They are both good and will score you a decent bartending job. Number one: Go to bartending school. It's obvious I know but you can really learn a few things there. When you get out of the program you'll be set to tend a bar. You'll probably get a job at a slow bar because you have no experience but you can quit and go to a better place when you get some time.
Number two: Become a barback at the place you want to work. This is good for two reasons. You'll get some killer experience at a fast bar and learn to make the types of drinks that crowd wants to drink. And also you'll have time AT the place you want to work so you'll have seniority over someone else. After a while you can pick up some Sunday afternoon shifts or something and you're good from there.

If you work at a popular and expensive bar you can EASILY make six figures in LV. No joke.
